Thursday 9th April

9:30am – 4:30pm

Naddle Farm/RSPB, Haweswater, Cumbria

The National Trust and United Utilities are hoping to recreate wetlands on eroding ground above Derwentwater and Thirlmere reservoir, and Cumbria Wildlife Trust (CWT) are going to write a plan for them. If you would like to be involved, CWT will be surveying the whole fell to measure the depth of the peat bogs, habitat types as well as mapping the areas of eroding ground.

No specialist skills or knowledge is required, although certainly welcome!

You’ll need to be physically fit. Walking time to the site is approximately 45 minutes, ascending around 300m.

Please bring a packed lunch and wear wellington boots or waterproof walking boots and appropriate warm clothing. Ideally bring some spare clothes.

Booking is essential, phone 01539 816300 or email events@cumbriawildlifetrust.org.uk
