View from the riverbank: Natural flood management in the Pennines

Date: 22/04/2021

Thursday 22nd April

6:30 – 7:30pm

Virtual talk via Zoom

Join Eden Rivers Trust’s Natural Flood Management Project Manager for a closer look at the work they’re doing in partnership with North Pennines AONB Landscape Partnership on the fellsides of the Pennines.

You will find out more about natural flood management and the features they’ve installed on the fells to reduce flood risk to communities in Eden, including leaky dams and tree and hedge planting. You will also hear about how they’ve worked with a farmer in Croglin.

The talk will be followed by a Q&A session.

This is the first in a series of three “View from the riverbank” virtual talks Eden Rivers Trust are hosting via Zoom this spring, covering three areas close to our hearts – river restoration, natural flood management and the eradication of invasive non-native species. Check out the Eden Rivers Trust things to do web page to book your place on the other talks.
