The Environment Agency (EA) have launched a new project with Hello Lamp Post. This a two-way communication platform that uses innovative chat technology that will enable people in the community to interact with, learn and feed back on topics such as flood risk and climate change in the area. The signs will be in place at three schools in Cumbria and Lancashire: Ambleside Church of England Primary School, Griffin Park Primary School Blackburn, and St Peter’s RC Primary School, Blackburn.
It should be a fun experience, and all people have to do is to text the phone number or scan the QR code on the sign, and they’ll be in.
Overall the aim is to increase awareness of the subjects and also to understand community perceptions on flood risk and climate change. The EA wants to encourage conversations about these issues too, as well as local EA projects.
