Morecambe Sea Wall Officially Open

Posted: 24/10/18

The new wave reflection wall that will reduce the flood risk to 11,400 homes over the next 100 years has been opened by the Environment Minister Thérèse Coffey.  The scheme was led by Lancaster City Council in partnership with the Environment Agency and involved building and replacing 4km of reinforced concrete defences that has been sympathetically designed to ensure that it fits in with the local area. The scheme has also been built with consideration for climate change and changes in sea level over next 100 years.
