Following feedback from a recent letter sent out by Lancaster City Council, they along with the Environment Agency, have taken the decision to remove the pedestrian footbridge as of today (Thursday 17th September) to reduce flood risk to the community.
Lancaster City Council want to reassure residents that they remain committed to providing a replacement structure for pedestrians to use. However, in the meantime, an alternative pedestrian route will have to be used until a new structure is built. Lancaster City Council are working as quickly as possible to put a replacement structure in place.
