The Environment Agency have launched new flood warning services in Blennerhasset, Baggrow, Kendal, Caldbeck, Blackburn and Harrington

On 24 August 2022 five new flood warning services were launched in Blennerhasset and Baggrow, Kendal, Caldbeck and Harrington (Cumbria); and Blackburn (Lancashire).

This work is part of a national Environment Agency project to expand flood warnings to previously hard to reach communities.

Flood Warnings tell people about an imminent risk of flooding to their home or business and help people make informed decisions about how to respond. There are three types of warning – Flood Alert, Flood Warning and Severe Flood Warning.

The locations of the new flood warning services:

Blennerhasset and Baggrow

The Environment Agency have announced that they will be offering a new flood warning service to properties at risk of flooding from the River Ellen at Blennerhasset and Baggrow.

Kendal

The Environment Agency have announced that they will be offering a new flood warning service to properties at risk of flooding from Blind Beck in Kendal.

 

Caldbeck

The Environment Agency have announced that they will be offering a new flood warning service to properties at risk of flooding from Whelpo Beck, Gill Beck and Cald Beck at Caldbeck.

Blackburn

The Environment Agency have announced that they will be offering a new flood warning service to properties at risk of flooding from Ewood Mill Race at Ewood.

 

Harrington

The Environment Agency have announced that they will be offering a new flood warning service to properties at risk of flooding from the River Wyre at Harrington.
