The Flood Hub’s Natural Flood Management Focus Week

Posted: 02/06/25

From Monday 9th – Friday 13th June, we are hosting our ‘Natural Flood Management’ Focus Week on our social media channels and we would greatly appreciate your support throughout next week:

The focus week will look at how NFM techniques like re-meandering rivers, re-wetting moorlands, woodland creation and more can benefit communities living at flood risk, whilst also providing many other multiple benefits for the local environment.

We will be sharing animations, resources, guidance and case studies which we hope will educate the public about how mimicking the natural functions within our catchments can help mitigate flood risk.

Do you know what ‘NFM’ is? 🤔 It means ‘Natural Flood Management’, also known as ‘nature-based solutions’, ‘working with natural processes’ or ‘slow the flow’! 💧
