In April the Unpave the Way team displayed an exciting informative exhibition called the Rainwater Capture Cube at the brand new RHS Urban Show in Manchester! The cube was filled with creative DIY solutions for sustainable drainage (SuDS) and rainwater harvesting, to inspire visitors to revalue their rainwater, and better manage surface water around their homes.
The Rainwater Capture Cube incorporated the following features:
- Rain garden downspout planter with incorporated seat
- Leaky water butt with planter
- Green roof cycle store with built in water butt
- SuDS house model (supplied by Trent Rivers Trust)
- Permeable paving model (supplied by GreenBlue Urban)
- Permeable paving samples (supplied by Brett Landscaping)
- Information boards highlighting the impacts of impermeable paved gardens, and the benefits of green permeable gardens!
