More than three years after the devastation caused by Storm Desmond, work to protect Glenridding from further flooding has been completed.
Glenridding was flooded twice in a matter of days when the beck burst its banks in December 2015. The scheme involved the removal of thousands of tonnes of gravel from the river in a bid to reduce the risk of a similar event happening again.
As part of the scheme, drainage work has been carried out to minimise the risk of flooding and the height of the walls has been raised.
