On the 15th October, Castle Street Community Flood Action Group organised a community clean-up event in Kendal to protect homes against future flooding. Newground have been working with this group since 2016 and supported the community clean-up. Residents carried out maintenance checks on their flood protection equipment to ensure it still functions correctly and cleared weeds and leaves to reduce the risk of flooding. During the event, there was a demonstration of flood control bags and residents shared the latest flood advice.
