The Environment Agency is delivering a Flood Risk Management Scheme to better protect homes, businesses, and schools along stretches of the River Ribble and River Darwen. The Scheme will also deliver improvements to the local environment and community amenities.

The Preston and South Ribble Flood Risk Management Scheme starts at Broadgate in Preston, follows the River Ribble upstream into Walton-le-Dale, and the River Darwen upstream as far as the Blue Bridge off Higher Walton Road.
