The construction of the Lancaster Flood Risk Management Scheme flood defences continues

Posted: 26/05/20

Work is continuing the £11m flood risk management scheme that will protect around 40 homes and 1,174 businesses. The scheme will provide 2.8km (1.7 miles) of improved flood defences. Flood risk from both the River Lune and surface water will be reduced. Homes and businesses currently at a high risk of flooding will be better protected as a result of the scheme.

Despite the country going into lockdown on the 23rd March following the Coronavirus outbreak, work on the scheme is continuing in line with government safety guidelines. Work is starting on the Millennium Cycle Path section this month.
